Plumber Bellara is a locally owned Queensland plumbing and gasfitting business working Bribie Island and the suburbs around it. Our team's QBCC licence covers plumbing and drainage and gasfitting, so one call handles the whole job.
We are on the island most weeks, across the Bellara, Banksia Beach, Woorim and Bongaree runs, and every job is priced on paper before any tools come out.

Our four service areas cover the jobs island homes actually run into, from salt-seized garden taps to hot water tanks reaching the end of their life.

When water is on the floor or the gas smells wrong, these are the urgent jobs we get called to:

Everyday repairs and installs across kitchens, bathrooms and the gas side of the house:

Drains, sewers and stormwater on flat, sandy island blocks:

Repairs and replacements for the storage tanks that dominate island housing:
$0 call-out fees, available 24/7, and same-day where we can.

Bellara grew in waves. The suburb got its name in 1961, though building only took off after the 1963 bridge opened, and the biggest run of houses went up through the 1980s. Most homes here date from the 1970s to 1990s, detached places on sandy blocks, with unit and townhouse buildings between them.
The original units from the early house wave were swapped long ago, and the tanks fitted through the 1990s and 2000s are now coming to the end of the road. Census figures put the population at 3278 with a median age of 59, so a dead tank in winter bites hard in these households.
Calm Passage water carries salty air over the streets nearest the water, and the taps, valves and relief lines on outside walls are the first to rust. A garden tap near Sylvan Beach Esplanade that seizes and weeps is a familiar call for us.
Under these streets sits estuarine and tidal-delta sediment, mapped by the state's geologists, that holds the rain soaking into the island, so a hole dug for a fresh water service or a sewer junction fills again while we joint the pipe. That slows the work, and it is why island excavation gets planned apart from a mainland job.

Plumbing emergency happening now? Start here:
Emergency plumbing. Burst pipes, overflowing toilets, gas smells and dead hot water systems are the calls that cannot wait. If water is moving where it should not be, start here.
General plumbing. We fix leaking taps and toilets, handle bathrooms, kitchens, gas appliances and concealed leaks. This is the everyday side of the trade, and most booked visits start here.
Drainage. Blocked drains, sewer and stormwater problems, and camera inspections that show what is actually in the line. On sandy island blocks with little fall, this is steady work.
Hot water. Repairing tanks that can be saved and replacing the ones that cannot, with honest advice on which side of that line your unit sits on.

State coastal hazard mapping puts a high-hazard strip right on the Passage foreshore, with a far bigger medium-hazard zone behind it. Council notes that the 2017 Ex-Tropical Cyclone Debbie surge came close to the rarest storm tide on its maps, had it arrived on a high tide.
Low blocks beside a tidal foreshore have barely any fall to shed water, so roof water can stall in the downpipes when heavy rain arrives on a rising tide.
A dense web of pump stations lifts sewage off this flat suburb, so if a storm knocks out power or one of those pumps fails, overflow gullies can spill onto the lowest blocks.
Rain falls heaviest from summer into early autumn, and the Bureau's long-running Beerburrum Forest Station records an average 1246 millimetres a year. The drier winters are when tired hot water units meet the cold snaps.
Where a drain or sewer joint cracks, the island's sand travels in with the groundwater and settles in the low bends of a line until the flow first slows, then stops. That is why island drain problems tend to be digging problems, not just jetting problems.

Every job in Bellara comes with $0 call-out fees, and there's no extra charge for nights, weekends or public holidays.
Our Fix-It-or-It's-Free guarantee stands behind the work (T&Cs apply), and if we're late, $100 comes off your bill.
Every job is done by a licensed plumber under QBCC No: 15024607, and our labour carries a lifetime labour warranty.
A locally owned and operated business, licensed and insured, with flat-rate pricing.
Island jobs have their own rhythm, and our team plans for the bridge, the sand and the tide rather than treating a Bribie block like any other address.

No two quotes match, because the conditions under a house differ as much as the houses do. What we price is the work you approve, on paper, before it starts.
A few things push a price up or down on the island:
Digging in sand over a high water table takes longer than the same dig on dry mainland clay, because the hole refills almost as quickly as you can empty it.
Asbestos-cement mains and sewers from the island's growth years are brittle and crack at their joints, and working around them is a different job from working with modern pipe.
Fittings on the foreshore side rust years ahead of the same fittings further back from the water, which can change what we replace versus what we repair.
You will never get a surprise on the invoice, because the number you signed off on is the number that appears, payable by card or EFTPOS on site.
Our regular island run covers the Bribie side of the bridge plus the neighbouring suburbs. Each of these has its own page with the local detail for that patch.
We also reach Sandstone Point on the mainland near the bridge, and the crossing keeps all of it on one sensible run. See about us, contact and our full FAQ page for more on how we work.

Ring (07) 3520 4094 and let us know what's going on in Bellara. A few questions up front mean we turn up with the right parts.

You get flat-rate pricing and no hidden fees before anything is touched. Approve it and we get started.

We check how the salt air, the sand and the wet ground have shaped the job, fix the fault you called about, and flag the fittings most likely to fail next so you are not guessing.

Pay by card or EFTPOS on site at the end, or ask about Fix now, pay later.
We cover general plumbing, drainage, hot water and gas fitting for Bellara homes, from tap repairs and blocked drains to burst pipes and system replacements, all under QBCC No: 15024607.
Every job gets priced up front in writing, and the figure you approve is the figure you pay, with no hourly meter running once the work begins.
Yes, we work same-day if we can, so ring (07) 3520 4094 as early as you can, tell us what is happening, and we will do our best to have a plumber there that day.
Along with Bellara we work Banksia Beach, Woorim and Bongaree, and we service Sandstone Point, just across the bridge on the mainland, so most addresses on the island are on our regular run.
The mains and public sewers belong to Unitywater, but as the property owner you must care for the lines that run from that boundary point across your land.
Call (07) 3520 4094, tell us what is going on at your place, and we set a time that suits, bring the right parts for the job and quote the full price before we start work.
